GEU Incubation Cell is nurturing and overseeing innovation and entrepreneurship at GEU.
TBI GEU seeks to nurture technology and knowledge-based ventures through their start-up phase by providing the necessary support to help entrepreneurs survive in the competitive market and reach a stage where they can scale-up their ventures further. The TBI GEU aims to build and share resources including space and infrastructure, access to business support services, mentoring, training programmes to enhance the skills of entrepreneurs and seed funds. The scope of support is broad-based, and covers technologies/IP developed wholly at the Institute or partly through collaborations elsewhere, as well as external start-ups with which GEU members are associated as consultants or mentors.
At the operational level, TBI GEU is primarily responsible for nurturing new companies, as well as for identifying promising pre-company opportunities. In this process GEU resources including the extensive and very active alumni network play a major role.
The Graphic Era Technology Business Incubator (TBI) is a pioneering concept in the framework of Indian Universities. The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) has been in active operation in the Institute from this year 2015, which is a joint initiative by the University and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. The TBI is generated, enumerated and implemented by the Foundation for Innovative and Technology Transfer - the Industry interface unit of the Institute. Graphic Era (Deemed To Be University) has also set up the Science and Technology Entrepreneurs' Park (STEP), to give a specific boost and emphasis to entrepreneurship development. TBI jointly with STEP shall promote entrepreneurial leadership across all disciplines, facilitate entrepreneurial activity amongst students, and invite entrepreneurs to use TBI services so as to develop end products for commercialization.
The GEU-TBI is situated inside the Graphic Era (Deemed To Be University). Hence, GEU-TBI leverages all the resources that are available on the campus such as access to laboratory, workshops, development and testing centers, computing resources, internet access and above all the human resources. In addition to these resources, GEU-TBI also has a network of eminent professionals, academicians, bankers, venture capitalists, and businessmen, who can extend support to these ventures.
